After the self-introductions, a professional presentation was put on by SMUD represen-tatives: Jan Schori and Rob Landon. That was followed by Ricky Sandhu introducing the new Gaylord Restaurant with new management. Sponsors and participants of upcoming meetings and events were organized. Afterwards every-one got to enjoy Indian-inspired pizza.
The Chamber sends its sincerest condolences to the Sibia family for the loss of Tejinder Singh Sibia. He was a dear friend to the Chamber and to the community. His memory and legacy will always live on. The recent mixer at the Holiday Inn in Elk Grove was dedicated to his memory and it was attended by many of Sacramento’s most respected individuals from politicians to veterans to businessmen.
The Annual New Years was a huge success. It sold out a full month before the day and was met with wide anticipation. Those who attended described it as a great evening with great food and great raffle prizes. Members are already volunteering to sponsor next year's event.

The July IVACC meeting took place at Maharaja Restaurant in Sacramento and was graciously sponsored by Ashok K. Gupta of Bridge Realty & Loans & the Siliconeer. This meeting saw the Chamber soar to new heights. Many new members from diverse career backgrounds as well as 2nd generation Indus Valley members were represented very well. The attendance almost doubled since the last meeting and the participation was completely enriching and effective. Each meeting thus far this year has shown incremental growth in attendance, awareness, and networking.
Topics That Were Discussed:
- New members were Introduced.
- A presentation on Fighting Hate Crimes by Mr. Singh, which was both
revealing and relevant to our times.
- An appearance and speech by Mayor Chuck Hammond, Commissioner
Linda Ng, and Mr. Darrel "H" Woo.
